Jamnagar Utilities & Power Private Limited (“JUPL”) is primarily engaged in the business of setting up, operating and maintaining captive power plants at various manufacturing locations of Reliance Industries Limited (“RIL”).
JUPL has set-up power plants at various locations viz Dahej, Hazira and Jamnagar with aggregate capacity to generate over 2300 MW of power and over 10000 tph of steam.
The gas based power plants set-up by JUPL are cogeneration plants with combination of Gas Turbine Generators (GTG), Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG), Steam Turbine Generators (STG) and Auxiliary Boiler units.
During 2016-17, the Company has set-up new power plants at Dahej and Hazira based on Circulating Fluidised Bed Combustion (CFBC) Technology which use coal as primary fuel.
In around 2 decades of operations, JUPL has demonstrated capability in operating power plants with high levels of efficiency and availability.
Power plant set-up by JUPL at Reliance Jamnagar SEZ area is accorded the status of Co-Developer by the Development Commissioner.
